From Inspection to Protection: How We Wrap Your Pilings

Preserving your dock’s foundation requires more than just a physical barrier; it demands a meticulous, multi-stage installation designed to survive the harsh Florida marine environment. Our specialized process begins before the wrap is applied, focusing on surface preparation to ensure a perfect seal. By following a rigorous technical workflow, we eliminate the biological "fuel" that marine borers need to survive, transforming your vulnerable wood pilings into a fortified, maintenance-free marine foundation.

Our Process:

• Site Inspection & Assessment: Checking for existing rot or "hour-glassing." Your pilings are inspected to identify any areas of concern. Heavily rotted or damaged pilings may not be good candidates for standard piling wraps.
• Cleaning & Scraping: Removing barnacles and oysters to ensure a tight seal.
• Base Layer: Multiple layers of 80 gauge film are applied to create a barrier that with deprive wood booring organisms of the oxygen and nutrients they need to survive.
• Outer Layer: A durable outer layer of polyethylene piling wrap is applied to protect the base layer.
• Stainless Steel Fastening: We secure the wrap with marine-grade hardware.

Complete Encapsulation: To ensure total encapsulation, we extend each wrap from several inches below the mud line to well above the high tide mark, creating an impenetrable, oxygen-free shield that protects the entire "splash zone" where decay is most aggressive.
