Why wrap your pilings?
A protective barrier around your timber pilings
Marine borers can damage wood below the waterline. Piling wraps create a barrier around the timber as part of a dock-maintenance plan.
We start by checking visible condition and removing marine growth from the area to be wrapped. The installation combines a film base layer, a durable polyethylene outer wrap and marine-grade fastenings.
Wraps protect the wood they cover. They do not restore wood already lost to rot or borer damage, so piling condition matters before work begins.

Review the piling condition
Check for visible damage, rot or narrowing of the timber. Severely damaged pilings may need repair or replacement before wrapping is appropriate.
Remove marine growth
Clean barnacles, oysters and other buildup from the area to be wrapped so the protective layers can fit around the piling.
Apply the protective layers
Install multiple layers of 80-gauge film, followed by a durable polyethylene outer wrap to protect the base layer.
Secure and finish
Fasten the wrap with marine-grade stainless steel hardware. We plan coverage from below the mud line to above the high-water mark, subject to site conditions.

Can you wrap existing dock pilings?
Yes, when the timber condition and access are suitable. We review visible concerns before confirming the work. Send photos of your pilings and any existing wraps with your request.
Will a wrap repair a rotted or damaged piling?
No. A wrap is a protective barrier and does not replace missing wood or restore structural strength. Severely damaged pilings may require repair or replacement before wrapping is appropriate.
